Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP) We report a new improved procedure for experimental data fitting in photorefractive fringe-locked running hologram experiments. From this fitting we compute the diffusion length L(D), the Debye screening length l(s), and the quantum efficiency for photo-excitation of charge carriers Phi, with a lower degree of uncertainty than reported in previous publications. The procedure was successfully tried on an undoped B(12)TiO(20) (BTO) crystal and led to L(D) = 0.16 mu m, l(s) = 0.038 mu m, and Phi = 0.33, in good agreement with the already available information on this sample.
