The adducts MoCl5 center dot 2eu, MoCl5 center dot 2pu, GeCl4 center dot 2etu, AlCl3 center dot 2pu, AlCl3 center dot 3pu, NiCl2 center dot 2etu and NiCl2 center dot 4etu (eu=ethyleneurea, etu=ethylenethiourea and pu=propyleneurea) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis (C, H, N) infrared spectroscopy (IR) and thermogravimetry (TG). IR Results show that eu and pit coordinate through oxygen, whereas etu coordinates through nitrogen. For all investigated adducts, a single mass loss step associated with the release of ligand molecules is observed. Empirical correlations involving TG and IR data arc established.
