Resumen
The authors aimed to study the deasphalting process on laboratory scale through the design and development of a supercritical extraction experimental unit. Extractions in subcritical and supercritical conditions were carried out using petroleum residue as feedstock and propane as solvent. Temperature and pressure weremanipulated in order tomaintain the solvent in the required conditions, thus facilitating the extraction process and avoiding sharp changes in the system. In supercritical conditions, the products in the deasphalted oil stream present adequate characteristics for the production of lubricant oils and those in the asphalt residue stream present an elevated concentration of asphalt molecules. 32 22 2659 2665 American Society of Testing and Materials, ASTM D2622-08 Standard Test Method for Sulfur in Petroleum Products by Wavelength Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry, , West Conshohocken, PA: ASTM American Society of Testing and Materials, ASTM D445-09 Standard Test Method for Kinematic Viscosity of Transparent and Opaque Liquids (And Calculation of Dynamic Viscosity), , West Conshohocken, PA: ASTM American Society of Testing and Materials, ASTM D7061-06 Standard Test Method for Measuring N-Heptane Induced Phase Separation of Asphaltene-Containing Heavy Fuel Oils As Separability Number by An Optical Scanning Device, , West Conshohocken, PA: ASTM Arzamendi, G., Arguiñarena, E., Campo, I., Gandía, L.M., Monitoring of biodiesel production: Simultaneous analysis of the transesterification products using size-exclusion chromatography (2006) Chem.
