Resumen
Nitrogen was used for cleanup of the silicone membrane after the extraction of analytes from aqueous samples by the membrane extraction with sorbent interface (MESI) method. The test samples consisted of solutions of organochlorinated and aromatic compounds at the relatively high concentrations of ca. 50 mg · L-1. The cleanup of the membrane with nitrogen was compared to cleanup with pure water. It is shown that in comparison to pure water, the use of nitrogen for membrane cleanup is much faster and may totally eliminate the analytes retained by the membrane. It is also shown that the use of heated nitrogen may be advantageous for some types of analytes. It is concluded that membrane cleanup with nitrogen may improve the use of MESI for sample preparation for gas Chromatographic analysis. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 11 1 29 35 Yang, M.J., Harms, S., Luo, Y.Z., Pawliszyn, J., (1994) Anal Chem, 66, p. 415 Mitra, S., Chen, Y., (1993) J Chromatogr, 648, p. 415 Pratt, K.F., Pawliszyn, J., (1992) Anal Chem, 64, p. 2107 Arthur, C.L., Potter, D.W., Buchholz, K.D., Motlagh, S., Pawliszyn, J., (1992) LC-GC, 10, p. 656 Yang, M.J., Harms, S., Luo, Y.Z., Pawliszyn, J., (1994) Anal Chem, 66, p. 1339 Mitra, S., Xu, Y.H., (1994) J Chromatogr, 688, p. 171 Mitra, S., Xhu, N., Zhang, X., Kebbekus, B., (1996) J Chromatogr A, 736, p. 165 Mitra, S., Zhang, L., Zhu, N., Guo, X., (1996) J Micro Sep, 8, p. 21
