Resumen
In the event of the loss of an implant and to take advantage of the preexisting structures, a rescue procedure that allows continuous use of the original fixed restoration during the restoration of the tripod support at the implant level can be used. When nonphysiological occlusion forces are avoided, the success rate of this rescue procedure is very similar to any other rehabilitation made following a conventional protocol. Furthermore, the fact that the patient has already adapted to the prosthesis position and its vertical dimension results in easier functional adaptation in the postoperative period and, consequently, greater comfort. 24 2 168 171 Rosenberg, E.S., Cho, S.C., Elian, N., A comparison of characteristics of implant failure and survival in periodontally compromised and periodontally healthy patients: a clinical report (2004) Int J Oral Maxillofac Implants, 19, pp. 873-879 Perry, J., Lenchewski, E., Clinical performance and 5-year retrospective evaluation of Frialit-2 implants (2004) Int J Oral Maxillofac Implants, 19, pp. 887-891 Lang, N.P., Pun, L., Lau, K.Y., A systematic review on survival and success rates of implants placed immediately into fresh extraction sockets after at least 1 year (2012) Clin Oral Implants Res, 23, pp. 39-66 Romanos, G., Froum, S., Hery, C., Survival rate of immediately vs delayed loaded implants: analysis of the current literature (2010) J Oral Implantol, 36, pp. 315-324 Dantas, T.S., Naves, L.Z., Prado, C.J., Retrieval technique for the Branemark Novum protocol: replacement of a lost implant (2012) Int J Oral Maxillofac Implants, 27, pp. e86-e89 Testori, T., Zuffetti, F., Capelli, M., Immediate versus conventional loading of post-extraction implants in the edentulous jaws (2013) Clin Implant Dent Relat Res, , Mar 18.
