Peripheral facial paralysis is a sensorineural disorder caused by facial nerve injury, manifested by a feeling of numbness and lack of strength to make a movement. Acupuncture is recognized by the World Health Organization as a millenary Chinese therapy, with proven effects by a mechanism that stimulates the central nervous system, to treat pain, inflammatory processes and neurological diseases. This paper describes positive evolution of treatment with acupuncture of a clinical case with facial paralysis. © 2013 Elsevier España, S.L.
