Resumen
This paper analyses the monologue of Jocasta (vv.1-87) on the prologue of Euripides' The Phoenician Women. I will discuss Jocasta's point of view about the myth of the Labdacids and how this monologue recovers some elements that are already known by the Athens audience from V B.C., which provokes and maintain a state of dramatic tension in that same audience. 21 1 135 145 Amiech, C., (2004) Les Phéniciennes d'Euripide, , Paris Burian, P., (1997) Myth into Muthos: The Shaping of Tragic Plot, pp. 178-208. , Paul Easterling (ed.), The Cambridge Companion to Greek Tragedy, Cambridge Craik, E., (1988) Euripides: Phoenician Women, , Warminster Croally, N., (2005) Tragedy's Teaching, pp. 55-70. , Justina Gregory (ed.), A Companion to Greek Tragedy, Oxford Goldhill, S., (2001) Reading Greek Tragedy, , Cambridge Halleran, M.R., (2005) Tragedy in Performance, pp. 198-214. , Rebecca Bushnell (ed.), A Companion to Tragedy, Oxford Havelock, E., (1994) A Revolução da Escrita Na Grécia, , São Paulo Mastronarde, D., (1994) Phoenissae, , Cambridge Medda, E., (2006) Euripide: Le Fenice, , Milano Sommerstein, A.H., (2002) Greek Drama and Dramatists, , London
