Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) In this paper, the design and the experimental validation of a discrete linear quadratic regulator applied to boost converters with switched loads are investigated. The closed-loop system stability under arbitrary switching is ensured by means of the existence of a switched Lyapunov function, obtained by means of linear matrix inequalities, which is the main contribution of this work. The control law is implemented using a digital signal processor. Experimental results reveal the good transient and steady state performances as well as demonstrate a strong correspondence with the simulation, proving the practical viability of the proposed procedure. © 2011 IEEE.
