Resumen
The room-temperature Raman spectrum of KLiSO4 was studied as a function of pressure up to 100 kbar. We discuss the evolution of the portion of the spectrum (>600 cm-1) containing the vibrational modes of the SO4 2 ions, as a function of steadily increasing or steadily decreasing pressure. We identify three distinct phase transitions which show a high degree of hysteresis. In one of the phases ( phase) the Raman spectrum undergoes qualitative changes in a continuous manner as pressure increases. This behavior, which is not shown by any of the other observed phases, may be an indication that the phase is incommensurate. © 1987 The American Physical Society. 35 7 3633 3636
