Resumen
The Monte Carlo variational method is illustrated in the simple quantum-mechanics application: the one-dimensional harmonic oscillator. Details of Monte Carlo and variational methods are explained. Besides, a graphic simulator for the problem is available at http://www.ifi.unicamp.br/~mreis/oh/oh.html to allow the reader changes several calculations parameters and follows our explanation of results to acquire more familiarity with the text presented.
