The product with Córdia verbenácea, in the pharmaceutical form of cream 0.5% concentration, was evaluated regarding to the effectiveness and safety, in the treatment of bruises, sprains, muscular traumas and injuries, with beginning in less than 24 hours, compared to diclofenaco dietilamonio in the emugel form. The dosage used for both groups was tid (every eight hours) during 10 days. The referring results to medication topically used in the injuries place, demonstrated excellent effectiveness in the treatment of bruises, sprains, muscular traumas and injuries, preferentially without injuries in the ligaments. With the collected information in this study, which is presented in this paper, the Cóndia verbenácea compared with the diclofenaco dietilamonio demonstrated to have better effectiveness, statistically proven. However there is no significant difference between both treatments regarding to tolerability.
