Batch Ethanol Fermentation Of Sugar-cane Molasses Media By Zymomonas Mobilis [fermentação Alcoólica De Mosto De Melaço De Cana-de-açúcar Por Processo Descontínuo Utilizando Zymomonas Mobilis]

The effect of nutrient addition, molasses clarification with NaH2PO4.H2O, sugars concentration (55 to 145 g/L) and temperature (30 to 40°C) on the growth rate and ethanol production using Zymomonas mobilis CP4 in batch fermentation process was studied. The best ethanol yields were obtained using clarified and supplemented molasses. Growth rate and ethanol production were optimum at 34°C and sugars concentration of 110 g/L.
