Resumen
The aim of the authors was to create an experimental biological model of spontaneous bone regeneration at the proximal metaphysis of the tibias and at the distal metaphysis of the femurs in dogs. These bones were perforated with a drill and histologically studied at the 2nd and at the 5th day, and at the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th weeks after surgery. Healing both at the tibias and at the femurs occurred from the peripheral to the central part of the bone holes; it began with fibrous granulation tissue, followed by new bone formation, and healingwas completed at the end of the 12th week. 31 11 931 935
