Resumen
Computational fluid dynamics simulation of a natural gas fed fluidized bed was carried out. A two-stage kinetics model for methane combustion was used. Natural gas was used in the simulated fluidized bed combustor, minimizing pollutant emissions even more. Dynamic simulations were developed with disturbances imposed into process input variables. The simulation results produced good predictions, both qualitatively and quantitatively, for the fluidized bed. This showed the suitability of the proposed approach. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 2006 AIChE Spring National Meeting (Orlando, FL 4/23-27/2006).
