Resumen
Titanium and zirconium oxides with interconnected macropores presenting well-defined pore sizes and controlled three-dimensional ordering were prepared using a latex templating method. Polystyrene spheres were used as pore templates, whereas metal alkoxides were used as oxide precursors. The final thermal treatment at different temperatures showed macroporous microstructure stabilities up to 600°C. At higher temperatures, a collapse of the macroporous microstructure and sintering were observed, as well as phase transformations in the oxides structures during the calcination process, as shown by Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction techniques. © 2006 The American Ceramic Society. 89 7 2226 2231 Imhof, A., Pine, D.J., Ordered macroporous materials by emulsion templating (1997) Nature, 389 (6654), pp. 948-951 Velev, O.D., Jede, T.A., Lobo, R.F., Lenhoff, A.M., Porous silica via colloidal crystallization (1997) Nature, 389 (6650), pp. 447-448 Holland, B.T., Blanford, C.F., Stein, A., Synthesis of macroporous minerals with highly ordered three-dimensional arrays of spheroidal voids (1998) Science, 281 (5376), pp. 538-540 Wijnhoven, J.E.G.J., Vos, W.L., Preparation of photonic crystals made of air spheres in titania (1998) Science, 281 (5378), pp. 802-804 Joannopoulos, J.D., Villeneuvc, P.R., Fan, S., Photonic crystals: Putting a new twist on light (1997) Nature, 386 (6621), pp. 143-149 Subramania, G., Constant, K., Biswas, R., Sigalas, M.M., Ho, K.M., Optical photonic crystals fabricated from colloidal systems (1999) Appl.
