Resumen
Maxillary myiasis is a rare tropical disease, it is endemic in several areas around the world, and common of some mammals, although humans are not excluded. The first case of maxillary myiasis in Ecuador is presented, as well as a description of the massive larval invasion. Similar cases reported in the medical literature are also reviewed.
