A Convenção sobre Diversidade Biológica (CDB, 1992) inaugura um novo regime global com respeito à proteção da biodiversidade. A Amazônia detém cerca de 1/3 do estoque genético planetário, constituindo um cenário territorial estratégico relativamente aos desafios e impasses hoje colocados nacional e internacionalmente em torno desse tema, bem como de suas possíveis soluções. Este trabalho visa analisar os rebatimentos, na Amazônia, dos grandes temas e questões que hoje ocupam o centro do debate internacional sobre a implementação da CDB.[en]The Convention on Biological Diversity (CDB, 1992) provides a new global regime for the protection of biodiversity. The Amazon possesses about 1/3 of the planetary genetic resources, constituting a strategic scenario for the present national and international challenges related to the biodiversity issues and how the societies deal with them. This work aims at analyzing how the major themes about the implementation of the CDB are reflected in the Amazon region.
