Resumen
In the current research work, a prototype of WSN network was designed for monitoring the level of CO2 pollution at Riobamba’s city center. A comparative analysis of wireless technologies was performed and, according to the analysis of efficiency obtained, it was determined that Wi- Fi is the most adequate wireless technology for the design of the network. The prototype of WSN network is integrated by a detection mechanism made up by two sensor nodes which include a NodeMCU electronic board, a MG811 sensor module and a UBlox NEO 6M gps; a controlling mechanism made up by a NodeMCU electronic board and a Raspberry plaque where a web server was implemented, each mechanism included batteries and voltage elevators which provide the necessary energy for the adequate performance of the devices. The prototype precision was determined when developing the calculations of the absolute error with data gathered from experimental measurements, where the level of reliability of the prototype was demonstrated with 95% at a maximum height of 2 meters with a data variation of 3%, which makes it stable and precise. Once developed the prototype functioning tests as well as its validation, it is concluded that the implemented prototype reaches all the necessary requirements for the net to be safe, portable, easy to set up and scalable, so it permits the insertion of nodes without any complication once the net had been implemented. It is recommended for future works, to develop a monitoring system to detect at the same time the levels of CO2 concentration in different environments.
