Resumen
A wastewater treatment plant was designed for Junta Administradora de Agua Potable y Alcantarrillado Regional Yanahurco (JAAPARY), with the objective of obtaining treated water by reducing the parameters that are outside the permissible limit based on the environmental quality standard and discharge of effluents to the water resource. According to the MINISTERIAL AGREEMENT 097-A to reduce the environmental impact on the ecosystem and the water resources, with this purpose the physical-chemical and microbiological characterization of the residual water from the zone of influence of the JAAPARY. The most important contaminants were identified and the treatability test were carried for the respective design. As a result, a system consisting of the following processes was obtained: a grid system with a volume of 0.50m3, a horizontal flow desander tank for the separation of sedimentable solid of 52.74m3, a Parshall channel of 0.20m2, horizontal hydraulic flocculator where flocculation and coagulation process of 55.41 m3, a filtration area in three phase medium (gravel, zeolite, sand) of 45.36 m2, and a sludge drying bed with a volume of 56,7 m3 were carried out. The selected de sing was validated with the following removal results: BOD 13 mg/L, OCD 30mg/L, apparent color 690 UTC-co, Detergents with a concentration of 0.91mg/L, oils and fats with a concentration of 10.3 mg/L, total dissolved solids with a concentration of 10.5 mg/L, total solid with a concentration of 560 mg/L and negligible faecal coliforms. It is recommended that the amount or fraction of sludge that is not collected in the system is removed in the drying bed which, through the dehydration process, solidifies and can then be used as composting or fertilizer
