Resumen
The aim of the research project was to charactize the operation of the set automatic transmission-motor and study the behavior of its different operating strategies, in turn to implement a diagnostic board and a display screen to show the sequence of coupling of the driving positions according to its requirements. The methodology applied is transversal, starting with the retrieval of bibliographical information to theoretically support research and criteria based on the experience of specialized staff. To begin the tests a measurement of the performance of the transmission and of the sensors was carried out, then the complete preparation of the transmission was carried out, in which also a visual recognition of all its parts was applied to get familiar with them, later the study of the strategies of operation of the transmission was carried out to anayze how the system and the actuating mechanism behave for each driving position. The diagnostic board was developed showing all the signal coming from the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and the display screen where we show the sequence of coupling of each driving position to know how the mechanical and hydraulic mechanisms interact, resulting in a visual diagnosis and obtaining measurements of variables from the TCM quickly with the use of the diagnostic equipment, in such a way that we observe precise signals depending on the variable to be measured. In the research it was concluded that for an optimum work of the transmission proper signals of the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) are required since in this way the work of the solenoids is required, for this type of work is recommended to be careful with the handling of the electronic components since the operation depends on them.
