Resumen
This research describes the automation process of a local irrigation system using a wireless remote control which is a proposal of technical innovation in the agricultura field. This system is developed as a prototype for the ASOFRUT enterprise located in Ambato city, it has an extensión of 3200 square meters. In this area there are trees and fruit plants such as: apple, peach, plum, and blackberry. For the automatic irrigation system the localized drop irrigation was implemented, this goes directly to the plant to avoid water waste; it is the most efficient system. Once the irrigation method was selected, a hydraulic desing was chosen to get the appopriate pipe diameters, the pump, and calculate the losses in the supply system. By taking into consideration the irrigation elements, the automatization was performed with the help of a S7-1200 1214c Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) which fulfilled the requirements for its technical characteristics, this controls the solenoid valves activation which are located strategically in each plantation, and the commands are taken by pushbuttons. Additionally, a User Man Interface was implemented based on a SIMTIC KTP400 touch panel which was used to make control screens and the elements operation simulation. Furthermore, a wireless remote control was made with the help of the Global Communications System (GCS) sustained in the Arduino platform which governs a microcontroller Arduino one. This is related to a GPRS/GMS sim 900 shield which consists on sending text messages from a mobile device. It is detected by the shield that communicates with Arduino with AT codes. This device is connected parallel to the pushbuttons for the PLC activation. THe improvement in the plantations irrigation was proved through a comparison of humidity leves, the measurements in the hours of highest solar incidence were analyzed, and the results were an average of 66% of humidity and a temperatura of 21,3° Celsius. It is recommended to use the maintenance manual proposed to conserve the system.
