Resumen
Reducing the temperature variation to ± 3 °C with respect to the set-point temperature in the
thermoforming ovens of the P7 plastic laminating machine was a necessity of the TUBASEC
C.A. company in Riobamba. The document details the implementation of a temperature control
system for thermoforming ovens in the TechoLuz production plant. The investigation was based
on the acquisition of data of the oven tested with a step-type test. After that it was used graphical
methods implemented in Matlab program for the identification of the transfer function in the oven.
A Proportional Integral Controller (PI) was designed using the transfer function. The
implementation of the controller was performed using a virtual instrument programmed in
LabVIEW. It interacts with the monitoring and control system of the machine (SCADA). To
generate the output voltage, the AC-AC converter concept was used per integral cycle. When
performing the respective tests of the control system, a final temperature variation of ± 2 °C was
obtained with respect to the set-point temperature. It is concluded that the dimensional
characteristics of plastic films improved. It is recommended to design an AC-AC converter to
customized resistive load.
