Resumen
The aim of the research was to conduct a methodological combination, creating a new one,
allowing the Registry of Intangible Cultural Heritage (Registro de Patrimonio Cultural, PCI)
with tourism objectives, this methodology seeks to specify characteristics and routes of
particular use to the areas identified by the Institute of Cultural Heritage (Instituto de
Patrimonio Cultural, NCPI). They have been handled under different characterizations by both
the Ministry of Tourism and by the Institute of Cultural Heritage. It was taken as base structure
and classification given by the PCI, with a methodology supported in real indicators that assess
the effectiveness of its implementation and results of tourism operations based on the
methodology. For the design methodology an specialized literature review was carried out and
the practice focuses on a criteria of taste and acceptance of tourists regarding PCI as tourist
attractions, in addition to the criteria of national tour guides through the application of surveys
the aforementioned groups, achieving the development of the new methodology detailing its
practices from identifying PCI resources application, use and management, exposed in a
methodological guide for implementation. Finally, it was applied using the new methodology in
a study in Mulalillo village, Salcedo Canton, Cotopaxi Province proving its functionality. In
conclusion, a methodology for Registration of PCI with tourism objectives developed,
according to the reality of the technical needs for proper management and management of
intangible or intangible resources, which will also allow the unification of criteria among
government agencies that manage the Intangible Cultural heritage (Patrimonio Cultural
Inmaterial), both for conservation and for sustainable use. It is recommended that the
methodology passes through practical application processes to identify potential failures.
