Resumen
The purpose of the current research is to study the agreement between the learning styles
and MOODLE virtual platform that students who are learning basic computing in the
careers of Animal Science and Livestock Industries of Livestock Sciences Faculty
perceive. The research started with a survey applied from (Honey-Mumford, 2011) in
order to obtain the learning style preference of student. In relation of platform, the virtual
classroom elements were classified regarding MOODLE philosophy and educational
theories. In each of virtual environments of professors, the elements classification was
applied and with that is possible to show the type of learning style that professors use
regularity in the virtual classroom. With the necessary inputs and the Chi-square
statistical test application, the data achieve were that students who were studying Basic
Computing from Livestock Sciences Faculty have different learning styles. In the case of
Animal Science School have the same related to the ACTIVE learning style. Meanwhile,
the students from Livestock Industries School presented a difference in the core idea of
continuing perception. That means that students had a REFLEXTIVE learning style,
however, professors had a THEORICAL. As a complementary part of research, a
pedagogical manual was designed in order to support the teaching work for the
implementation of a required learning style. At the end of the research, it was found that
10% of professors from Animal Science College have a basic knowledge in educational
theories. In fact, half of the professors use the virtual classroom. It is highly recommended
that professors might utilize theories followed by the virtual platforms as a complement
in their teaching.
