Resumen
This thesis was elaborated with the aim to design and build a suspension system for a vehicle type formula SAE, which will allow ESPOCH, specifically to the School of Automotive Engineering, to go forward completing the prototype FSAE. To reach this was made a regulation study of the SAE formula, also the different suspension systems and their behavior, which allowed a bigger safety, reliability, easy maintenance, comfort, and ergonomics. This provides the guidelines to elect the adequate suspension system for the prototype. Keeping in mind all the aspects that must accomplish to design the same, for this was used finite element software, which permitted electing the adequate material to make effort calculus with the different charges, which the prototype is subjected to. This will allow having a reliability and safe suspension. Afterwards, the procedure to obtain the materials and elements for the construction of the suspension, according to the design, then with the adequate procedure for the construction and the assembling from the suspension to the chassis, its correct functioning and reliability are based on the design. At the end of the investigation was determined that all the elements will resist to all the efforts caused in the functioning of the prototype in the track for which is recommended to make the corresponding analysis in critical cases for a better reliability.
