Abstract
This research evaluates productivity indicators in Chimborazo province, Canton Penipe, Guzo the community; the Agroecosystem was productively characterized to identify its potential and mediate future implement models of intensifying productive, being considered this place as a vulnerable area and high risk, where the majority of its poplation are adults older who manage ecosystems. Through this research was found that 20% of its population is among 31-49 years of age, and 80% are elderly; vegetables are grown by 73%, fruit by 18% and 9% cereals; the gender indicator determined 50% for female and 50% for the male sex. The educational level of the beneficiaries found a 5% illiteracy, 90% have primary education and 5% secondary education; in reference to the soil type, was determined to be sandy in 95% and the sandy loam in a 5%; a surface type undulating with 43%, flat 32% mountainous 25%. The farming system that predominates is rotation with 45%, polyculture by 30%, silvopastoral system with 20% and 5% agroforestry system.
