Resumen
In Reprogenes transfer genetic center, located in Riobamba city, Chimborazo province, was carried out the evaluation of porcine semen heterospérmico, commercial line Camborough 22, subjected to dilution in one and two thermal stages and its effect on the insemination in reproductive sows Landrace-York Shire using a completely randomized design, for seminal evaluation and a design of completely randomized blocks, for reproductive evaluation in sows, during a period of 160 days of research. The experiment determined that the best average in the spermatic characteristics at 168 hours of evaluation, for the porcine semen heterospérmico subjected a cooling system in two thermal stages, reaching averages of 79,55%, 4.52 points and 76,58% for mass and individual motility and spermatic vitality respectively. The most fertility presented sows inseminated with semen exposed to cooling system in two thermal stages, reaching 93,33% of fertility and increased prolificacy rate, reaching 13,5 piglets a litter, which affects the litter weight at birth reaching an average of 17,92 Kg, and determined the highest benefit – cost reaching a value in 1,84 USD. So it recommended to use the cooling system in two thermal stages for the porcine semen during processing and conservation in refrigeration, since it presented satisfactory results from the reproductive, productive and economic point of view and socialize the information obtained at processing centers of porcine semen level and intensive and semi-intensive farms recommending the use of cooling system in two thermal stages.
