Resumen
The agronomic performance and nutritional assessment was evaluated in two species of
grass Brachiaria decumbens and panicum maximum variationTanzania in cutting ages
21,42, 63, and 84 days, as a result of different levels of nitrogen fertilization
application(25, 50, 75 and 100 kg N/ha). 20 plots of 21m² each were used and distributed
under a randomized complete block design (RCBD). The results were analyzed using
ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) and mean separation test with Ducan. It was determined
that the used levels statistically influenced the answers, but did not present a defined
behavior according to the cutting periods; however, the Brachiaria decumbens when
using 100 kg/ha, showed forage production in 21 days of 3449.06 kg DM/ha/cut and in
84 days 6116.28 kg/DM/ha/cut. In the Panicum maximum production was 2447.62 and
3655.74 kg DM/ha/cut in the same periods. According to the economic analysis, it is
recommended to cut the grass in 21 days, using a fertilization of 75 kg N/ha in Brachiaria
decumbens because it gets a B/C of 2.75; for the Panicum maximum 100 kg N/ha must
be used, since its profitability was B/C 1.97.
