Resumen
The creation of a GNU Linux distribution for Workstation custom adaptability in Public
Institution (ESPOCH), by comparative analysis of Linux software (Ubuntu, Mint and
Debian), which will allow you to select the components needed to select the Linux
operating system that best suits the institutional needs.
The experimental methodology is used which allows me to choose the best features of
the Linux distributions using indicators: Availability, performance, usability,
customization and supporting documentation, by analyzing websites, replicating the
look, elavdevelper, informatic group, atombit blog, dedicated to obtaining results of
surveys and visits.
For the testing of the hypothesis of the research and since it has more than two
distribution variables the used Chi-square is necessary, which will help establish the
significance of the difference in frequencies observed during tests and thereby
determine the relationship between the dependent and independent variable. Ubuntu
getting the highest percentage with 96.97%, unlike Debian 87.88% and Mint 78.89%.
According to the analysis by percentage indicators, the Ubuntu Software is the best
option when designing a custom distribution that suits the needs and purposes of the
Polytechnic School of Chimborazo.
It is recommended to the technical support team from the Institution to apply the
software which was created.
