Resumen
Design and build the chassis for a competition vehicle based on the restrictions for the chassis imposed by the Formula SAE, being the most important event at the student level. At the design stage, all necessary knowledge acquired in ESPOCH will be taken into account, starting with sketches, then arriving at static and dynamic software analysis by finite element methods which will guide us to complete the final design of the chassis . The dimensions of the chassis should be adequate to obtain a better weight distribution, taking into account that it is a chassis with multitubular structure, will be chosen for a construction with triangular geometries to obtain greater rigidity and thus a better performance of the vehicle during the competition . It is recommended to use the finite element software ANSYS V.15, since it can give us more accurate data when comparing them with another one that is going to be used as it is SOLIDWORKS 2014. For the construction different types of materials and tools were taken, arriving at Use the most suitable for the multitubular structure based on the regulations of the SAE 2014 Formula, and on the mechanical properties for ASTM A500 steel. It is recommended to continue working on the project by implementing the other components needed to complete the prototype, and later to form the university team that will attend a Formula Student competition.
