Resumen
In the poultry program of the Faculty of Animal Sciences of the ESPOCH, an
evaluation of two rearing systems (photoperiod and cage) in the laying period of
Lohmann Brown pullets was performed, in comparison with a control rearing
(floor), applying three treatments with 5 repetitions and a total of 15 experimental
units, under a Completely Randomized Design. The result inferred that rearing
systems evaluated do not have statistical influence in the productive performance
of birds from day old to 6 weeks, but for the amount of food consumed was higher
in rearing in floor (0.86kg). In the development phase (7-12 weeks), there were
significant differences only for the ambient temperature reaching the ideal
treatment when applying T2 to 16, 64°C calorie range. To compare the three
systems of rearing in the laying period there are significant differences for feed
conversion, being more efficient in applying the photoperiod (1.78), as for the room
temperature (16,26°C). Economic evaluation infers higher returns using the
photoperiod (T2), at a cost of 1, 36 profits. So it is recommended to work the
Lohmann Brown pullets' replacement with a system initially in the ground and then
the photoperiod since recorded an efficient food conversation.
