In 10 de Agosto Parish, Pastaza province, a nutritional five-native forage specie
evaluation in Amazon Ecuadorian region such as Amazon Sunflower (Tithnia
diversifolia), Amazon Morera (Morus Alba), Papango (Cyclanthus bipartitus),
Tropical Wheat (Coix lacryma-jobi) and Quiebra barriga (Trichathera gigantean) was
carried out to determine its bromatologic value. A completely random design (CRD)
was used and samples were sent to the Espoch Facultad de Ciencias Pecuarias
laboratory and INIAP. The gotten results determined high dry matter contents,
forage species Tropical Wheat 29,92% and Amazon Morera 24,21%; Amazon
Sunflower species and Quiebra barriga registered high protein contents 21,81 and
21,07% and low fiber contents 19,01 and 22,37%, respectively; the forage species
Quiebra barriga and Amazon Sunflower reported the best contents of ashes
16,65% and 12,16%, high calcium 3,25%, phosphorus 0,42%; the best results of
free nitrogen extract was gotten by Amazon Morera 44,42% and Amazon Sunflower
43,43%; the species with high Tropical Wheat content 4,93% was determined in the
ether extract. According to the bromatological potential presenting forage species
Cyclanthus bipartitus and coix lacryma-jobi, with ideal characteristics to be used in
order to feed the ruminants, it is recommended to apply studies to know the
agriculture production and economic potentiality of the best species.
