Resumen
Optimization of the effluent treatment system generated in the CORPOTEX Company located in the Tambo Central Sector, Pelileo Canton, Tungurahua Province was carried out to improve the quality of the company's wastewater. To diagnose its operation, the standards established in the TULAS were used, the water samples collected were of compound type to perform the respective dosage and analysis tests in the water laboratory of the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo, materials were used such as: beakers, pipettes, thermometer, erlenmeyer, funnels, stirring rods, colorimeter, conductivity meter, pH meter, titration equipment, stove. The correct amount of flocculant per liter of wastewater was determined by means of dosage tests for which we worked with 2 weekly samples during 2 months, flocculant was prepared at 20, 25 and 30% concentration and the tests were carried out with volumes of 3, 5, 10 and 15mL of flocculant per liter of wastewater, and finally the analysis of the treated water was carried out. Applying the optimization to the effluent treatment system and applying the dosage tests, it was obtained that the optimum dose of flocculant is 5mL per 1L of wastewater and the analysis of the water obtained in this test shows values of 0.036 mg/L of sulfides and 3.5 mg/L of surfactants, achieving a decrease of 99.5% in sulfide and 49.12% in surfactants, sulfide with a value of 0.036 mg/L being the permissible limit 1.0 mg/L is within the current environmental standard and surfactants with a value of 3.5 mg/L is not within the permissible limit 2.0 mg/L is not within the current environmental standard. It is concluded that the application of optimization in wastewater treatment systems reduces environmental impact. It is recommended that optimization be applied to the effluent treatment system generated at the ""CORPOTEX"" jeans laundry and dry cleaner's and other companies engaged in the same activity to improve wastewater quality and contribute to the environment.
