Resumen
A personalized Pharmacovigilance System was implemented, aimed at patients suffering from primary hypothyroidism, treated in the endocrinology area of the Hospital Alternativo Andino de Chimborazo ""HAACH"" in the city of Riobamba in order to detect, control and follow up adverse drug reactions ""ADRs"" that occur in the pharmacological treatment. For the development of the research, there were 30 randomly selected patients, 20 female patients and 10 male patients, whose ages ranged from 20-60 years; several suspected ADRs were identified, which were classified using Naranjo's algorithm as: proven, possible, probable and doubtful. Data were collected during the period November (2013)- May (2014). Through this follow-up we obtained a decrease of: 68% of RAMs in the treatment with Levothyroxine, 78% of RAMs in the treatment of Levothyroxine with omeprazole, 75% of RAMs in patients using Levothyroxine and metformin and finally 100% of RAMs were controlled in the patient who used Levothyroxine together with Calcium. Through the implementation of this personalized Pharmacovigilance System, we have achieved a control in the development of RAMs, the improvement of the pharmacological treatment and the quality of life of the patients. It is recommended that Pharmacovigilance Systems be implemented exhaustively both in HAACH and in hospital pharmacy, since they contribute to the improvement of drug treatments and the optimization of resources at hospital level.
