Resumen
The improvement of the initial strengths of cement using synthetic additives in the final grinding was carried out for Empresa Cemento Chimborazo C. A.. For the development of the research, we started by collecting the necessary amount of raw materials, characterizing them and checking their quality, then we proceeded to grind using 66% Chimborazo clinker, 25% pozzolan, 6% limestone, 3% gypsum and the dosage of the additive in a ball mill at laboratory scale to obtain IP Pozzolanic Portland Cement; These were subjected to physical-chemical analysis to compare their quality with the NTE INEN 490 standard and to determine an efficient dosage of the additives. As a result, it was obtained that of the 4 additives investigated, the RGA/K155 additive with a dosage of 0.05% of the total mass is the one that offers the best benefits, both in the % of improvement of retention in mesh N°325 with 18.67%, in the % of improvement of the initial resistances with approximately 40% and in the greater estimated utility for the company; It was also possible to determine that the maximum amount of pozzolan that can be added to the grinding together with the clinker and the RGA K155 additive is in the range of 15%-18% of the total mass to be ground. It is recommended to apply the results of the research to optimize the production process and improve the quality of cement, specifically in early age strengths.
