Resumen
This research took place in the ecosystem surrounding the PVC (polyvinyl
chloride), accessories factory belonging to JL distributor, which is located in the
province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. It was conducted the implementation
of a sewage treatment system by settling tanks of ecological action; it was
measured the pollution rate considering an experiment during two stages of
assessment (before vs, after), by following descriptive statistics. When working on
an initial environmental survey it was noticed that the hydrography was
contaminated while the climatic conditions showed a decrease in the native fauna
due to human activity, furthermore, the waste water flow through white pipes
without any treatment and high turbidity levels. During the second stage of this
study; the analysis of sewage after the implementation of water treatment it was
observed a noticeable change in its Ph whose rate reached a significant increase
compared to untreated water since it rises from 5,85 to 6,70 reaching neutrality.
Another factor that was considered was the color whose rate reported a
considerable decrease because its initial rate 1215,67 Pt-Co, dropped to 486,27
Pt-Co. Regarding to the fats and oils content their rate decreased significantly
since its initial rate of 28,78 dropped to 11,96 similarly, the suspended solids
whose rate of 103,19 ppm suffered a decrease to 39,55 ppm. For this reason it is
suggested a better handling and storage of solids waste since, it was noticed
complete ineffectiveness when collect them for later disposal this leads to develop
contamination vectors (mosquitoes, rodents, etc.), and generates a negative visual
impact around the industry.
