Resumen
The objective of this research is to elaborate and control the quality of a moisturizing cream based on mucilage and natural aromas, which we prepared based on Jacaranda extract, pear extract and mucilage from the seeds of salvia hispanica, the method used was the experimental method, which was the most appropriate to find the appropriate formulation to test its effect, the materials were experimental rabbits to test the moisturizing activity, cosmetic raw materials and extracts obtained by maceration. The ethanolic extracts are prepared by maceration and the mucilage by hydration of the seeds. The cream is obtained by mixing stearic acid, distilled water, 0.2% pear and jacaranda extracts. Experimental rabbits of the Californian breed were selected from the same litter to determine the moisturizing activity, this was achieved in applications every 1, 2, 4, 24, 48 hours and the reactions that the product causes in the animals were observed, in addition the control product was used, in this case Lubriderm was used because it is a known and confirmed product, observing the progressive decrease of dryness in the skin of the rabbits. It was determined that after one hour its absorption is complete, the best formulation was with pear extract having an average absorption value of 1.99, resulting to be lower than the other formulations including the control formulation. It is recommended to carry out a further study based on the best formulation to make it suitable for humans and thus verify its acceptability and effects on dry skin.
