Resumen
The formulation, elaboration and quality control of a balanced feed for experimental mice (Mus musculus) of the biotherium of the School of Biochemistry and Pharmacy of the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo was proposed. The formulated balanced feed is constituted by natural ingredients, pre-mix of minerals and vitamins. The scientific method was used to evaluate the formulations in mice (Mus musculus) as biological material for research, using laboratory techniques to determine the quality and safety of the food. The results of the first stage are the evaluation of the physicochemical and microbiological characteristics, for F1 the physicochemical results detail a constitution of total solids of 92.77%, ash 5.06%, fat 8.568%, fiber 4.15%, protein 20.87%, on dry basis, 54.122% ELnN, pH 6.84, mesophilic aerobes is 2 x105 UCF/mL, fungi 40 UFC/mL, absence of total coliforms, fecal coliforms and E. coli. For F2, the results show a total solids constitution of 92.09%, ash 4.6%, fat 7.13%, fiber 4.1%, protein 17.68%, on a dry basis, 58.58% ELnN, pH 6.78, mesophilic aerobes 3 x104 UCF/mL, fungi 30 CFU/mL, absence of total coliforms, fecal coliforms and E. coli. In a second stage, the efficacy of each formulation was evaluated, obtaining an average growth of 0.7725g/day F1, 0.720g/day F2 and 0.655g/day (F), determining that F1 is optimal for the growth and maintenance of the experimental mice. It was recommended to evaluate the efficacy of other indicators of protein quality (NPV, BV) and protein shelf life.
