Resumen
The present investigation aims to determine the antimicrobial activity of ethanolic extracts prepared by maceration and ethereal and chloroformic subextracts by liquid-liquid extraction of Senna multijuga, Tagetes zipaquirensis, and Coursetia dubia, against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538, Escherichia coli ATCC 9637, Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 10031, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, Salmonella Gallinarum ATCC 9184 and Candida albicans ATCC 10231; at 10000, 1000 and 10 μg/mL, this study was carried out in the laboratories of the Faculty of Sciences of ESPOCH. For the determination of antimicrobial activity, the Mistcher test was applied. The screening indicated that Martin Galvis contains anthraquinones, triterpenes, sterols, steroids, monoterpenes, flavonoids, flavones, and alkaloids. For Zorrillo the presence of flavones, flavonoids, monoterpenes, sesquiterpenolactones, tannins, and katetic tannins. The Alverjilla flavones, flavonoids, benzoquinones, monoterpenes and alkaloids. Sub-extracts were obtained with immiscible solvents (ether and chloroform). The microbiological activity of Senna multijuga indicates that the ethereal subextract shows inhibitory activity for Staphylococcus aureus; the chloroformic subextract shows partial activity for Candida albicans and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The initial ethanolic extract (10000, 1000 μg/mL) of Tagetes zipaquirensis has activity for Candida albicans, the ethereal subextract inhibitory activity against 5 strains of microorganisms studied, being only inactive for E.coli. The initial ethanolic extract (10000, 1000 μg/mL), final ethanolic extract and ethereal extract of Coursetia dubia presented partial activity for Candida albicans. It is concluded that the ethanolic extracts and ethereal and chloroformic subextracts of Senna multijuga, Tagetes zipaquirensis, and Coursetia dubia, do present inhibitory capacity for the 6 strains. It is recommended to continue the study of antimicrobial activity by Mitscher's method at different concentrations of the ethanolic and chloroformic subextracts of Senna multijuga and Tagetes zipaquirensis to determine MIC.
