Resumen
One of the principal problems that the swine farms face is the disposal of the feces
which are produced in large quantities and must be taken away daily from the
barnyards and other installations where the pigs remain; this is why the evolution
of alternatives of handling the swine feces constitutes a practical guide on the
solution to a great problem through the application of cleaner technologies
produced upon using some of the alternatives previously stated to improve the
alimentary efficiency and thence the retention of nutrients in the animal, total
consumption of the alimentary compounds, facts which mean less environment
contamination. Worldwide, the greatest problem faced by the swine exploitations is
the generation of feces, which having a great nutrient potential, contaminate the
environment and can become the principal obstacle for the future development of
the animal industry. The pig feces have traditionally been handled in a pig-pasturemilk system, taking advantage of the soil improvement for pasture with organic
matter fertilization to attain a major milk production. This is why it is recommended
to use the pig feces as fresh, dry or bio-degraded as a fundamental protein
component, plus the addition of fibers in the bovine and sheep feeding both for
initial ages and adult ages.
