Resumen
"This paper deals with a Design of a Guide for the Elaboration of Didactic Material for the Teaching-
Learning of Environmental Education for the children from the Third and Fourth year of Basic
Education of the School Belisario Quevedo of the Juan Benigno Vela Parish, Ambato canton,
Tungurahua Province. The applied methods in the elaboration of the guide are inductive,
deductive and analytical , with tools such as observation, questionnaire and interview; with the
use of these methods its possible to describe the actual reality of the institution as to design of
the didactic material; this way it is possible to identify relevant aspects such as the teaching—
leaming process of the Environmental Education The study was carried out over the 2009-2010
period, taking as a sample 38 students and 2 teachers who are representing 70% study
Population, thus being possible to identify each category. It is concluded that the teachers used
the materials suggested in the didactic guide under the components of: recycling, reuse, and
Environmental Wisdom which obtained better educational environmental results than the
conventional resources, aspects which were verified in a statistical and qualitative way with
results which reached the highest significance level. it is recommended to apply the guide as a
pedagogic tool, an aspect which facilitates the interiorization of learning in the environment field,
resulting in the modification of attitudes skils of children in front of the environmental problems
of both the institution and surroundings."
