Biopolymer Random Laser Consisting of Rhodamine 6G and Silica Nanoparticles Incorporated to Bacterial Cellulose
(IEEE, 2012-01-01)
We demonstrate random lasing action in a biopolymer that has large potential for medical applications. The novel random laser consists of nanofibers of bacterial cellulose impregnated with silica nanoparticles and Rhodamine 6G.
Optical and Structural Properties of Zein-Xanthan Gum Biofilms
(Wiley-v C H Verlag Gmbh, 2011-01-01)
Structural and optical characteristics of zein-based films produced with different xanthan gum concentrations have been studied in this work. Scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) and optical microscopy (OM) were performed ...

Development of starch biobased and biodegradable plastics for their use in trays for food-packaging
(2011-12-01)
This research work develops new methods to produce biodegradable starch-based trays for the purpose of replacing expanded polystyrene in the food packaging market. The starch based biopolymers present several drawbacks ...
Interactions in polymers blends of Sodium Alginate and Poly (ɛ-Caprolactone)
(2014)
Blends between polymers have arisen as a result of the necessity to obtain materials
that have some properties of a polymer and other properties of another, instead to synthesize a
new one with desired properties. A ...
The influence of the thickness on the functional properties of cassava starch edible films
(Royal Soc Chemistry, 2002-01-01)
The properties of edible films are influenced by several factors, including thickness. The purpose of this paper was to study the influence of thickness on the viscoelasticity properties, water vapor permeability, color ...
