El objetivo de la investigación es analizar la relación entre los hábitos alimenticios e imagen corporal de los padres con las de sus hijos. Se evaluaron 75 sujetos con las pruebas ECA (Angel, 1994) y de percepción imagen corporal (Stors, 1983). Se encontró que las mujeres tienen un porcentaje mayor que los hombres en relación a imagen corporal, las madres tienden a influenciar las creencias de sus hijos sobre sus cuerpos más que los padres. El entorno familiar, la presión de los padres, rol de la mujer en la sociedad y rasgo de personalidad contribuyen a que algunos niños presenten desde edades muy tempranas conductas de pérdida de peso y se sientan descontentos con sus cuerpos.
