O papel do coordenador pedagógico no contexto da gestão escolar democrática em Nova Candelária/RS

This work of monographic research is a product of the Specialization Course in Educational Management, in the distance modality, of the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) and has as its theme the role of pedagogical coordinator and democratic school management. The objective of the research is to understand the role, importance and attributions of the Pedagogical Coordinator in the context of Democratic School Management. The methodology adopted is composed by the qualitative approach, with field research and as an instrument for data production the interview. This study is based on two themes: Democratic management, based on Libâneo (1996), Lück (2008), Klippel and Wittmann (2010) and others; pedagogical coordination, based on Oliveira and Guimarães (2013), Placco and Souza (2012), Barros and Eugenio (2014), among others. Based on the interviews, the analysis was made from three categories, namely: “The professional identity of the pedagogical coordinator”; “The challenges of practice” and “Pedagogical coordination and the relationship with democratic school management”. As a conclusion we realize that advances are needed in the delimitation of the tasks of pedagogical coordination, hence also in working conditions. Nevertheless, we emphasize the important role of articulator that develops the pedagogical coordinator, allowing this professional, the articulation for the accomplishment of a more democratic management.
