The present research thematizes about the continuing education offered in the Pacto Nacional pela Alfabetização na Idade Certa (PNAIC) and its repercussion on teaching practice. The problematic that guided this study was: what are the thoughts and perceptions about the continuing education offered in PNAIC? Thus, the study's overall objective was to know the PNAIC's contributions to the process of continuing education and pedagogical practices of teachers from literacy cycle of two municipal schools of Agudo / RS. The research was based on official documents that conceptualize and assist in the PNAIC clarifying. In the methodology it was used the qualitative research of a case study. The study subjects were four teachers of the Early Years (1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade) in two municipal schools of Agudo / RS, two supervisors and the guiding studies training. The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire with subjective questions. With the obtained responses, it was done a content analysis. With this research it was concluded that PNAIC contributes to the teaching and learning process, once that it focused directly on the individual practice of participating teachers, providing a new point of view at the teaching educational context.
