Resumen
The normal routine of humans include the habit of making purchases, which can be influenced by price, brands, culture, among other features. A University community, theoretically, is composed of people who constantly seek information in order to make a difference and transform the planet on which they live. But in a University Community consumers are aware towards the environment and can be considered to be ecologically correct? The proposal of this work is derived from this question, which seeks to analyze the degree of environmental awareness and Ecological Consumption on University community of Caxias do Sul. To achieve this goal a questionnaire was applied to this community, which was divided into two groups: teachers and staff and students. After cataloging the results, it was found that, for the group of faculty and staff, the predominant criterion at the time of the purchases is the quality and the group of students is the price. Respondents from the group of faculty and staff are conscious towards the environment and have characteristics of potential consumers eco. The Group of students has traces of environmental awareness, but are weak eco-friendly consumers. It is evidenced the need to multiply the knowledge about environmental education, mostly with the group formed by students. Provide grants to modify the way of thinking and acting of these individuals is essential in the pursuit of environmental sustainability.
