This paper presents a study of the conditions to the development of the Financial
Education in the Elementary Education. Primordially, it was searched, through historical
research, the examination of how this area of knowledge was constructed. In following it was
searched the promote to a reflection about how was developed the knowledge relevant to the
learning of the principals basics of trade and financial transactions. These principalsare very
important concepts to understanding the functioning of trade and financial market. This
reflection was developed through of a comparative analysis of a particular book of Financial
Mathematics and some textbooks for the 6th grade of elementary school, more specifically, in
chapters that deal with knowledge relating to the subject searched. Therefore, with based in
this bibliographic and documentary researches and professional activities of a finance
favorable insertion on the Financial Education in school curricula, this thesis proposes to
answer the following problems of research for example, what are the factors that characterize
the lack in the developing the financial capacity of individuals in the school. It was examined
also the state of the art under a new view - conceptual – it getting conclusions that they can
convince the acts in the education how much is important this knowledge area and alert about
the necessary care to not make mistakes that can to hurt the definition involved in the
developing activities for students.
