Abstract
The mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a compromise of language, thought, perception, attention, memory and executive functions and also leads to changes in behavior that result in performance loss of both activities of daily living as instrumental activities. The current demographic change with increasing longevity, increases the prevalence of neurodegenerative diseases in persons aged 55 years and is considered 16% to 41% of people with MCI develop dementia and so far there is no drug treatment to prevent or decrease progression, which is why cognitive rehabilitation is based on the theory of brain neuroplasticity, cognitive neuropsychology and behavior modification therapies, becomes a key element for fostering the autonomy of individuals and therefore a better quality of life.
