Resumen
Traditionally the urban study has been relegated to physical and architectural issues. The forms of cities are designed, generally, regardless of social conflicts. However, the city can be understood as a manifestation of disputes arising from the social struggle. In the same vein the concept of the right to the city emerges, understood broadly as the one decide what kind of city and how to organize it. Thus, this right has been limited to the construction of spaces for capital accumulation to an elite able to shape the city, creating an urban chaos that is evident in the socio-spatial segregation, bulging coffers of the powerful while the majority of workers are isolated to exercise the right to change and reinvent the city to catch up their needs and ensure their dreams. In that way, it is vital to study what urban life produced both institutional and academically for the right to build the city.
