Resumen
China is the fourth biggest country and the most populated in the World. Nowadays it is considered to be an important part of global economy. In 2010 China became the country with the biggest exports putting it between the principal economies right before the United States. Also, China finds Colombia as a possible partner as it is thought to be a country with a considerable influence in Latin America.
However, because of its extension, China is a country full of cultural diversity. For that reason, the work “Estrategias de internacionalización de la industria de panadería en Colombia hacia la provincia de Shanxi, China” will only focus on Shanxi. The chosen state, is recognized for its abundance in mineral resources and its important role in Northern China’s electric net. Due to this, Shanxi promises a bright future as it is planning to become the industrial base of the country.
It is also important to highlight the rise of Colombia´s bakery industry, as it is not only part of the family daily consumption but also profitable for entrepreneurs, because it generates high quality and value added products. However, like any other Colombian industry, it has some weaknesses, for example the lack of association which is the problem this work will try to solve due to the fact that, as Anonimo 2011 says, “The importance of those associations is that they could easily find solutions for the low consumption or even make partnership for acquiring bigger knowledge” making easier the entrance to international markets.
To prove Anonimo’s idea, three Colombian enterprises, that show the different stages to enter the international market, will be analysed. The first one, Noel, is a well known enterprise that is also positioned in both Latin-American and north American markets. The second one is Pan Pa Ya that with its “ultra-freezing” technology conquered countries in Latin America, Europe, Japan, Canada and others. Finally is Ramo, an enterprise has not entered any international market but it is upgrading its processes to achieve this.
In addition, the work will highlight the importance of association and the creation of clusters of Colombian enterprises to generate high quality products with the required conditions to enter new markets through international strategies and competitive advantages
